Laser Hair Removal
Superior, Comfortable Laser Hair Removal
Are you tired of shaving, waxing and plucking? Laser Hair Removal provides patients the permanent removal of unwanted hair using advanced laser light energy, which destroys the follicles and eliminates hair growth forever. At Womens Wellness Institute of Dallas, we use the most modern laser platform, which has the capacity to focus either of two types of light directly on the unwanted follicles. The darkest hairs respond best to Laser Hair Removal, and all the targeted hairs fall out completely in a matter of days. This common procedure was approved by the FDA in 1997 for “permanent hair reduction” and laser technology has advanced dramatically since then, affording the patient a much safer, more comfortable and effective experience. Millions of women have used this quick, painless option to replace irritating stubble with silky, smooth skin.
For optimal results, 5-8 sessions of Laser Hair Removal with excel HR technology are recommended. We offer package prices or accept payments for individual treatments, with costs for the procedure varying depending on the area to be treated.

excel HR Cutera Laser
At Women’s Wellness Institute of Dallas, we use the excel HR Cutera Laser, which is considered the gold standard for superior and comfortable Laser Hair Removal. This advanced devise combines the best aspects of two separate laser technologies.
The 755 nm Alexandrite laser is the most effective treatment for dark hairs on skin types I-IV (pale to medium complexions). The 1064 nm Nd:YAG is the premier wavelength for permanent hair reduction on darker skin types V-VI, or tanned skin. The handpiece is equipped with a sapphire contact cooling plate to ensure patient comfort.
In addition, this Cutera Laser provides both a small, focused beam to treat small areas such as underarms and bikini lines, as well as a larger beam, which allows wide areas such as arms and legs to be treated more uniformly and efficiently. Full results are generally seen after 3-6 treatments, and periodic maintenance is sometimes required.
Common Questions Asked about excel HR Hair Removal Treatments
No, the hair will be shed for 1-3 weeks.
The laser works best on dark hair. It does not work well on blond, gray, red, or white hair because it does not absorb laser energy due to lack of pigment. We can attempt to treat light hair, however, we often recommend doing a test spot first.
Yes. Our advanced laser technology allows us to treat any skin type safely and effectively.
The hair root must be present and pigmented for the laser to work.
We do not treat tanned skin. Increased melanin (pigment) in the skin decreases the effectiveness of treatment and also makes it more likely that the patient will experience hyperpigmentation, hypopigmentation, or blistering from the laser treatment. This includes sunless tanning products and sprays.
Yes, we request that you shave any areas you want treated the morning of or 24 hours before treatment. Surface hair increases the risk of a burn and uses laser energy that will then not go to the root of the hair follicle.
Yes, with the exception of eyelashes due to the danger of eye injury.
There is a stinging sensation felt during treatment that many patients find comparable to the pain of waxing or electrolysis. We do offer a topical anesthetic prior to treatment, if desired.
Underarms, back of the neck, and bikini areas are usually treated in approximately 5-10 minutes, while large areas like full legs or back can take up to an hour.
The skin will have some erythema (redness), and the hair follicles will swell, looking like goose bumps for approximately 1-2 hours, and up to a couple of days in some patients.
It may be anywhere from 3 weeks to 4 months before any regrowth is observed. After each treatment some hair (approximately 20-30 %) will not regrow.
Blistering, bruising, hyperpigmentation (darkening), or hypopigmentation (lightening) of the skin. We will assess your risks of these complications, and will perform a test spot at your first visit if we feel you are at any risk.
Test spots are small areas of skin that are treated at various laser energy levels prior to treatment of darker skin. They are done to determine the level of energy that is best for that individual. Test spots are re-evaluated in 2-4 weeks to determine if the patient is a laser candidate.
No, your fee is payable on the day of treatment by cash, credit card, or check.
Charges are based on the area you want treated. We recommend scheduling a complimentary consultation to determine the price and answer any other questions you may have. We offer laser hair removal packages or you may pay individually for each treatment.
