Stretch Mark Treatment
Stretch marks (straie) are the red and white streaks that appear in linear form on skin that has rapidly or excessively stretched, often as a result of pregnancy, accelerated growth or weight gain. Stretch marks most commonly appear on the thighs, stomach, breasts, hips and upper arms. Considered a common side-effect of pregnancy, as many as 90% of women experience stretch marks at some point in their lives. While stretch marks are neither harmful nor painful, many women wish to reduce their visibility for aesthetic reasons.
Women’s Wellness Institute of Dallas offers treatment for stretch marks to all women who wish to reduce their visibility with a combination of CO2 fractional laser and Morpheus8. The laser treatments resurface the skin to eliminate superficial scar tissue, and concentrate beams of light to stimulate collagen and elastin growth. Meanwhile, Morpheus8 treats the deeper scar tissue up to 8mm beneath the skin using radiofrequency energy with microneedling. This combination helps to reduce and minimize the stark appearance of stretch marks, and encourages new tissue growth that is aesthetically superior in texture, color and appearance.
While no therapy can make stretch marks completely disappear, most patients report smoother, less visible stretch marks after treatment. While results are most successful for women treating fresh stretch marks, which respond best to fractional CO2 laser treatment and Morpheus8, Women’s Wellness Institute of Dallas has successfully treated stretch marks of widely various ages, sizes, and skin types.
Stretch mark treatments are performed in-office on an outpatient basis. With this non-invasive approach, patients experience minimal discomfort and can return to their regular daily activities immediately. Optimal aesthetic results are achieved with once-monthly treatments for three or more months depending on the severity of the stretch marks.
