It’s a new year and as usual, we’re all reflecting on the previous year’s adventures and what we’re looking forward to in the upcoming future. For many, setting a few resolutions for self-improvement is a top priority. More specifically, we all tend to take a closer look at our goals to be a healthier version of ourselves. Some of those goals might include hitting the gym more, eating better, getting better sleep, or ditching any other not-so healthy habits we’ve picked up. This year, when thinking about health we’d like to encourage women to include their sexual health as a top concern.
Similar to the positive ways other healthy habits improve our lives and ourselves, excellent sexual health has huge benefits that extend beyond the bedroom. Intimacy is an important part of our wellness, and bettering or maintaining optimal sexual health allows us to enjoy not only sex, but also the emotional and physical perks that accompany it.
The aging process, changes in the appearance our anatomy after childbirth, hormonal shifts and much more can have a negative impact on our sexual health. These factors can lead to painful intercourse, loss of confidence, an emotional disconnection with our partners and general dissatisfaction, and many women neglect this aspect of their health. The good news is there are plenty of treatment options and ways to approach these issues!
